Job Description

Hand to Hand Therapy Clinic is seeking a motivated PRN Certified Hand Therapist/Occupational Therapist to join our specialist private practice in Wheat Ridge Colorado. This practice has Certified Hand Therapists who are recognized for delivering exceptional care to patients in our community. Our therapists collaborate with referring physicians to effectively deliver treatment interventions to correct sensation deficits, loss of coordination, and bio-mechanical faults in joint mobility, muscular strength, flexibility and endurance for the hand and upper extremity patient. We are looking for an individual who like us is willing to creatively problem solve treatment plans. This position is for a hand therapist who is confident in making good treatment decisions and "thinks out side the box " in order to efficiently and successfully deliver quality care in today's medical world. Our unique clinical setting offers personal and professional support for growth, mentoring and achievement.
Position Summary:
The Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) or Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating patients; planning, implementing and modifying treatment programs according to diagnosis appropriate needs. The Therapist may participate in other related duties assigned by the supervisor. The Occupational Therapist performs duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care at Hand to Hand Therapy Clinic. Our therapists play a critical role in triage, treatment and progressing advanced therapeutic programs to ensure our patients return to their functional activities or work at the highest level. The position will start in January to cover a maternity leave and has the potential to develop into a part-time or full-time position with benefits. Position Requirements:
Education:
Bachelors degree or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
DORA licensure, NBCOT certification, HTCC certification
Required Education and Training:
splinting, basic hand and UE assessment and treatment skills.
Required Education and Training:
myofascial release techniques, ergonomic training, neuromuscular re-education, wound care and advanced splinting
Experience:
Certified Hand Therapist preferred or 1-2 years in hand therapy
Position Duties:
1. Able to perform all evaluations, assessments and treatment planning required in this position. 2. Effective verbal and written communication with patients, physicians and co- workers. 3. Communicates positively and professionally with all customers 4. Applies technical knowledge in rehabilitative activities tailored to patient's needs including, but not limited to: ADL training, work station assessment and education, use of compensatory techniques and equipment, neuromuscular and sensory re-education, gross and fine motor coordination, evaluation and training, energy conservation, functional mobility, positioning, splinting and hand therapy techniques. 5. Establishes appropriate treatment plan with measurable and attainable goals and time frames. 6. Facilitates preparation of patient schedules, billing charges and other reports per medical records procedure through timely completion of documentation per policy. On all documentation utilizes descriptive, behavioral terms using correct grammar, organizationally approved abbreviations and medical terminology. 7. Participates in personal, professional and program development 8. Adheres to professional code of ethics (AOTA) and to all accreditation and regulatory requirements.
