The position would be in our New Haven regional team. Duties Assess and evaluate pediatric patients' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities to identify therapy needs. Collaborate with speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and medical professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Provide coaching and parent training for families to carry over strategies practiced during sessions in both the home and clinic setting. Develop personalized care plans focusing on improving activities of daily living (ADLs), fine and gross motor skills, and sensory integration. Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each child's unique needs, including working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Assist with discharge planning by coordinating with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transition from therapy services. Support early intervention team by providing therapy services to infants and toddlers at risk or diagnosed with developmental delays. Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic activities, adaptive techniques, and strategies for ongoing support at home or school. Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and case management records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review patient progress and modify care plans as needed for optimal results. Ensure compliance with safety standards in all therapy environments.

Experience:

Experience working, or clinical placements, as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist in diverse settings such as outpatient clinics, schools, inpatient units, or home health environments. Hands-on experience assisting children with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental delays, or sensory processing challenges. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology related to pediatrics and occupational health practices.
