Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity, supporting elementary students in specialized Autism program classrooms for the 2026-2027 academic year. This part-time position runs from ASAP through June 2027, offering 22.5 hours per week across Monday to Friday. Both licensed Occupational Therapists (OT) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) are encouraged to consider this impactful role, as one OT or two COTAs will be hired. Youll provide invaluable direct services to approximately 50 students distributed among five classrooms across three school buildingsmaking a significant difference in the lives of children with unique learning needs.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in Connecticut Previous experience working in school settings, particularly in Autism support programs, is highly valued Strong collaborative skills for partnering with classroom teachers, special educators, and support staff Effective communication abilities for engaging with students, faculty, and families Organized, detail-oriented approach to managing caseloads and documentation
Responsibilities Include:
Delivering hands-on, direct occupational therapy interventions to students with Autism in multiple elementary classrooms Collaborating with educational teams to tailor services to individual student goals Supporting sensory regulation, fine motor skills, and participation in daily classroom routines Maintaining thorough records and contributing to IEP processes as needed This position is ideal for professionals seeking meaningful part-time work in an educational setting, allowing for a balanced schedule while making a tangible impact.
