Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity delivering occupational therapy services in a vibrant school setting near Vernon Rockville, CT. We're seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for the 2026-2027 academic year, with an immediate start through June 2027. This part-time role offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, totaling 22.5 hours per week. Youll have the flexibility to make a significant difference, working either as a solo OT or as part of a collaborative team of two COTAs.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred. Familiarity with supporting students diagnosed with Autism, particularly in self-contained or specialized classroom environments. Ability to work effectively within a team, communicating regularly with educators, staff, and families. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Commitment to promoting positive outcomes for elementary-aged learners.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct therapy services in elementary Autism program classrooms across three school buildings. Serve approximately 50 students by addressing sensory, fine motor, and adaptive skill needs. Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and contribute to goal setting and progress monitoring. Collaborate with special education and classroom staff to adapt activities and maximize student participation. Maintain accurate records of interventions and progress, ensuring compliance with school and regulatory guidelines.
