Encompass Health seeks a Licensed Occupational Therapist to provide evidence-based rehabilitation services in our inpatient hospital setting. In this role, you will assess functional abilities, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions that help patients regain independence after major illness or injury. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and document outcomes in alignment with regulatory standards. Responsibilities Evaluate patients' functional abilities and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support recovery from illness and injury Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary rehab teams on coordinated care plans Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques, safety, and use of assistive devices Document assessments, goals, progress notes, and discharge plans in accordance with regulations Participate in performance improvement, clinical excellence, and patient safety initiatives Provide mentorship and education to therapy staff and students as appropriate Contribute to care planning meetings and communicate progress to the care team Required Skills Occupational therapy evaluation and treatment planning Inpatient rehabilitation care Neurologic and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques Functional mobility and ADL retraining Patient and family education Interdisciplinary team collaboration Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology Discharge planning and care coordination Regulatory and documentation compliance
