Occupational Therapist (OT): Starting at $45/hour (dependent on experience) Position Overview Birch Agency is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide school-based occupational therapy services in Broward County, Florida for the 20262027 school year. This flexible part-time opportunity consists of approximately 8 hours per week supporting students across three school sites located within approximately 30 minutes of one another . The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students develop the functional skills necessary for academic success and independence. Qualified Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) are also encouraged to apply, as long as supervision by a licensed Occupational Therapist can be provided. Key Responsibilities Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to identify students' educational and functional needs (OT). Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students' IEP goals (OT). Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in individual and small-group settings. Address fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, handwriting, self-care, and classroom participation skills. Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and classroom accommodations when appropriate. Monitor student progress and adjust intervention plans as needed. Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, service logs, and any required Medicaid billing. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, speech-language pathologists, school psychologists, physical therapists, and families. Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings. Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations. Qualifications Occupational Therapist (OT) Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program required. Active Florida Occupational Therapy license required. NBCOT certification preferred. Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred. Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program required. Active Florida COTA license required. Must be able to work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. School-based or pediatric experience preferred. Both Positions Strong knowledge of pediatric development, sensory integration, fine motor development, and school-based therapy practices. Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively across multiple school sites. Work Environment School-based assignment serving students with diverse educational and developmental needs. Approximately 8 hours per week . Services provided across three Broward County schools located within a short driving distance of one another. Collaborative multidisciplinary team including educators, administrators, speech-language pathologists, school psychologists, and other related service providers.
