Qualifications:

Current certification as a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) through the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP) Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) teaching certification Experience supporting visually impaired (VI) students in educational settings, ideally across ages and grade levels Ability to manage a dynamic caseload and travel between different school sites Strong collaborative skills working with multidisciplinary teams and families

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized O&M instruction to VI students in grades 2 through high school across multiple school sites Conduct assessments and develop strategies aligned to IEP goals Create and manage your own schedule to best accommodate students instructional times and programming Provide direct onsite services (no remote or virtual options) tailored to each students unique needs Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school teams to support student independence and safety Maintain detailed documentation and contribute to IEP meetings as required Enjoy the flexibility to design your ideal workweek and make a direct impact helping students achieve greater independence.
