Qualifications:

Current COMS certification through the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation & Education Professionals (ACVREP) Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) Teaching Certificate Background supporting students with visual impairments (VI), ideally across age groups Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with diverse teams and families Ability to design and track progress on goals outlined in each students

IEP Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver direct instruction to students with VI in grades 2 through high school, onsite at assigned schools Assess student abilities and develop tailored orientation and mobility plans Monitor progress, update IEP documentation, and provide ongoing support aligned with best practices Consult with special education staff, parents, and other related specialists Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with district and state O&M standards Travel between school sites as needed Enjoy the fulfillment of helping students become more independent and confident in their journeys.
