Job Description

Temp| Rehabilitation Services This position will be temporary full time to cover a maternity leave starting in January. As an Occupational Therapist, you will help patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working. You will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide evidence-based therapy services to support optimal function and independence. Working with both inpatient and outpatient populations, you will collaborate with providers, patients, families, and the rehabilitation team to achieve the best possible outcomes. In this role, you will: Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals, patient goals, and clinical findings. Obtain and interpret information from physicians, providers, patients, and caregivers to establish effective plans of care. Provide occupational therapy services to patients across the lifespan, from pediatrics through geriatrics. Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate to achieve desired outcomes. Document evaluations, treatment plans, daily treatment notes, progress updates, and discharge summaries in the electronic medical record according to departmental standards. Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, adaptive techniques, and home exercise programs. Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, technicians, and rehabilitation support staff as appropriate. Collaborate with physicians, providers, case managers, and other rehabilitation professionals to coordinate care. Participate in departmental meetings, staff conferences, in-services, and continuing education opportunities. Obtain insurance authorizations and re-authorizations as required by payers and managed care organizations. Maintain professional competency through continuing education and lifelong learning. Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment focused on quality patient care. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Rehabilitation Director. We're seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist who is committed to helping patients improve their independence and quality of life. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, collaborative team member, and patient advocate. Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy educational program Active Occupational Therapy license in the State of Iowa Basic Life Support (BLS) Valid Driver's License No prior experience required if education and licensure requirements are met Previous experience in inpatient, outpatient, or rehabilitation settings Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Strong documentation and organizational skills Knowledge of rehabilitation principles and evidence-based practice Commitment to exceptional patient care and customer service Ability to effectively treat patients across multiple age groups Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
