Hand Therapy Position Purpose:
Provides occupational therapy evaluations and treatments to patients to facilitate and maximize functioning level as prescribed by physician. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Administers treatment techniques competently. Conducts patient assessment. Develops treatment plans for patients. Communicates relevant patient information. Provides education to patients and families. Supervises and delegates duties to support personnel. Supervises students and volunteers. Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy, Master's preferred. No prior experience required. Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Iowa (if waiting to take the examination for the first time, may practice with a Temporary License under the supervision of an Iowalicensed OT for a period not to exceed 6 months from the date the application was received in the board office for licensure by examination).
