Job Description

Step into a dynamic contract role as an Occupational Therapist supporting students from preschool through transition age across multiple school sites near Des Plaines, IL. This full-time position spans the 2026-2027 academic year, making a difference within a large and diverse school community. As an itinerant team member, youll collaborate with educators and families, adapting your expertise to elementary, middle, and high school settings with varied daily schedules. Your work will provide vital support to a wide range of students, helping them grow, participate, and thrive in their educational journeys. Desired Background and Requirements:
Valid Occupational Therapist license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Active educator license through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Strong clinical background in school-based occupational therapy Previous experience in educational settings is a plus Ability to manage an itinerant caseload, traveling between school sites as assigned Comfortable working with children and young adults ages 322 Fingerprinting and background check are required before start
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy services to students ages PreKTransition (22) Assess students, develop individualized interventions, and document progress Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support academic and functional outcomes Adapt strategies for diverse classrooms across elementary, middle, and high school campuses Communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff Enjoy the flexibility, professional fulfillment, and unique experiences that come with serving multiple schools.
