Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity serving students as a school-based Occupational Therapist on a contract basis. The caseload size will be determined based on need, and the position is considered "soft," offering flexibility and a collaborative approach with the school team.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Possession of a current Occupational Therapy license in the state Previous experience working with school-aged children is preferred Comfortable collaborating with educators, families, and support staff Creative in adapting activities to meet diverse learning and physical needs Strong communication skills for effective documentation and parent meetings Organized and flexible to adapt to changing caseloads or schedules
Primary Responsibilities:
Assess students to determine strengths, needs, and eligibility for OT services Provide tailored therapy and develop strategies to improve fine motor, sensory integration, and functional skills in the school setting Collaborate closely with IEP teams to design and implement interventions Maintain accurate records, prepare progress reports, and communicate updates with parents and staff Participate in IEP meetings, contribute valuable insights, and help set achievable goals Work proactively with teachers to support classroom integration and promote student independence
