Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive occupational therapy services across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, pediatric, and adult care. This role involves developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to improve patient independence, assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), and support clients with diverse needs such as neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, and recovery from injury or illness. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with interprofessional teams to deliver evidence-based care and ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct thorough occupational therapy assessments to evaluate patients' functional abilities and needs. Develop personalized treatment plans targeting physical rehabilitation, cognitive skills, sensory processing, and ADL independence. Assist patients with ADLs and IADLs to promote independence and safety in daily routines. Implement evidence-based occupational therapy programs tailored to individual goals across various populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, neurodevelopmental disorders, and post-acute care. Support discharge planning by coordinating care transitions and providing education to patients and families. Manage medical documentation accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with clinical standards. Collaborate with speech therapists, physicians, case managers, educators, and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care. Provide client communication that fosters understanding of therapy goals and progress. Participate in clinical interprofessional collaboration to optimize treatment strategies. Support autism spectrum disorders initiatives and work with individuals with disabilities or special education needs. Stay current with best practices in occupational therapy through ongoing professional development. Experience Proven experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder. Experience in pediatric occupational therapy, early intervention, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient settings, outpatient clinics, or home health environments is highly desirable. Familiarity with acute care, ICU settings, post-acute care environments, or inpatient rehabilitation is preferred. Demonstrated ability to develop treatment plans for diverse populations including geriatrics and clients in occupational health or medical rehabilitation. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical documentation standards is essential. Prior experience working with students with disabilities or special education needs is a plus. Competence in managing electronic health records (EHR) systems and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
