Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into an engaging contract opportunity serving students across several school settings near Kansas City, KS. This unique position offers Occupational Therapists the autonomy to craft their own schedules, visiting a range of elementary and specialized schools including Camber, Bridges Academy, New Chelsea Elementary, Emerson Elementary, and Welborn Elementary. With a manageable caseload of 50-60 students, you'll have the chance to make a meaningful impact while tailoring your daily visits—averaging 1-3 sites per day—according to your professional approach and students' needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

Active Occupational Therapist license in Kansas (KS) required. Experience providing OT services in school-based environments preferred. Solid understanding of IEP process, documentation, and collaboration with educational teams. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for partnering with teachers, administrators, and families. Ability to manage multiple locations and balance a diverse caseload.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess student needs and develop individualized treatment plans to support educational and developmental goals. Deliver occupational therapy interventions, monitor student progress, and adjust strategies as necessary. Document assessments, sessions, and outcomes in compliance with district and state standards. Collaborate with special education staff, classroom teachers, and caregivers to promote student engagement and success. Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions. Provide consultative support for staff and families to maximize student participation within the school setting.
