Assess Functional Abilities:

use standardized assessments, patient interviews, and real-world task simulations to determine the patient's current level of independence and areas of need.

Develop Treatment Plans:

create personalized treatment plans tailored to the patient's condition, goals, and discharge needs. Train in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): guide patients in regaining the ability to perform basic ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, and transferring (e.g., from bed to chair).

Recommend Adaptive Equipment:

introduce and train patients to use tools that compensate for functional limitations (i.e., grabbers, reachers, sock aids, dressing sticks, etc.).

Environmental Modifications:

Suggest changes to the home or hospital room setup to improve safety and accessibility.

Educate Patients and Families:

train family members or caregivers on how to assist properly without increasing the patient's dependency, and provide guidance for ongoing care at home or in a rehab facility. Qualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers.

You must have:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy Current state Occupational Therapy certification/license Current BLS (AHA) certificate Additional Qualifications That Are a

Plus:
