The Occupational Therapist provides goal directed, activity oriented, treatment to promote optimum independence in self-care, functional mobility, and daily life tasks. The OT provides adaptive methods and equipment as appropriate to enhance performance. The OT ensures continuation of performance through effective education of the patient and family or support system. Responsibilities Perform patient evaluations to determine level of function. Develop plan of treatment and revise if necessary. Perform appropriate intensive therapies and manage therapy time. Provide timely required documentation per facility requirements. Document charges accurately to provide appropriate billing information. Meet productivity standards per facility requirements. Supervise occupational therapy assistants ensuring appropriateness and quality of care. Advise the interdisciplinary team, patient, and patient's family on specific needs to ensure a safe discharge such as: Outpatient services, DME, home modifications, and follow up appointments. Coordinate care with nursing clinical staff who participate in the patient's rehabilitation. Attend weekly team conference and communicate patient barriers and/or progress to the interdisciplinary team. Immediately report to nursing staff any acute medical concerns that may occur during treatment sessions. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program; valid licensure or certification required. Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities across various environments including geriatrics, inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health settings. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and evidence-based occupational therapy practices. Experience working with clients on treatment plan development and implementing occupational therapy programs tailored to diverse needs. Strong client communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within interprofessional teams. Familiarity with medical documentation standards and electronic health records management.

Pay:

$40.00 - $48.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
