Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist, working with a vibrant K-12 student population in a supportive educational setting near Kenner, LA. As an engaged professional, you'll provide itinerant OT services to a caseload of approximately 75-100 students across multiple grade levels, helping students achieve their fullest potential in academics and daily living skills. This is a full-time, onsite position following a standard school day schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with contract dates extending through the school year.
Qualifications:
Valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of Louisiana Previous experience in a school environment is highly preferred Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills Ability to adapt services for diverse student needs across all grade levels, K-12 Collaborative spirit for working alongside educators, support staff, and families Dedication to fostering inclusion, access, and student growth
Key Responsibilities:
Engage in comprehensive OT assessments and implement individualized treatment plans Deliver direct and consultative OT services to assigned students Maintain thorough documentation of interventions, progress, and outcomes Travel between school sites as needed to support student caseload Participate actively in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions Offer strategies and resources to classroom teachers and caregivers to promote student success
