Jul 1, 2026 Job Description The Warwick Community School and Warwick School District is Massachusetts's newest public school district, nestled into the scenic woodlands, along the border of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont. The school sits on a 25-acre outdoor campus that features a vernal pool and cranberry bog. We have many school gardens and plan to build more to support both our curriculum and our lunch program. WCS is seeking highly qualified candidates for the role of part time Occupational Therapist.
The Role:
The Occupation Therapist functions as a member of the total diagnostic team by providing comprehensive differential diagnosis, assessment, educational planning for students with disorders including but not limited to self-regulation, sensory processing, fine motor, visual motor integration and adaptive living skills. Occupational Therapy services may be delivered in a variety of ways by the occupational therapist alone or in collaboration with other service providers and includes consultation and direct services. The Occupational Therapist will provide services through a collaborative interdisciplinary model of intervention and across curriculum with the emphasis on being able to access the curriculum in the least restrictive environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to: Direct services and consultation Case management services for assigned caseload Development of IEP goals, progress reports, and attendance at IEP meetings Conducting comprehensive evaluations and writing reports Collaborate and consult with school personnel Family communication and collaboration as part of service delivery planning and services
Your Skill Set:
As the incoming Occupational Therapist, you will possess the following characteristics and qualifications: Experience with a range of learner profiles including mild/moderate and intensive special needs and atypical learning profiles. Experience with students on the autism spectrum. Experience with data collection and progress monitoring. Experience with administering and interpreting formal and informal assessments, as well as strong interpretation and report writing skills. Experience with assistive technologies and adaptive equipment. Experience with and commitment to inclusion that benefits students academically and social/emotionally. Ability to work closely, collaboratively and effectively with a team of teachers, service providers, and families. Strong ability to work as a member of a professional learning community and multi-disciplinary team. Highly effective executive function skills including being well organized, possessing strong time management and scheduling skills, and able to work independently to meet timelines. Highly effective oral and written communication skills that promote and encourage collaboration with colleagues, parents, and administrators. Strong positive, interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, staff, administration and families. Strong ability to multi-task and focus on student learning, data collection, and measurable outcomes. Maintain currency in the field and emphasize the role and use of data in service delivery and goal development. Salaries are competitive with local districts and commensurate with experience.
