Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist

The Huron Intermediate School District is seeking a qualified casual Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist to provide instructional and consultative services to students with visual impairments and other disabilities affecting vision. This position focuses on developing students' ability to travel safely, independently, and effectively within school, home, and community environments. The O&M Specialist collaborates with staff, families, and outside agencies while supporting evaluation and planning processes, including METs, IFSPs, and IEPs. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree preferred
• Certification in Orientation & Mobility required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with visually impaired students preferred
• Pass and maintain the School Employment background check
• Physically and mentally capable of rigorous work (capable of sitting on the floor, standing, and sitting for extended times, and lifting or pushing a minimum of 50 pounds)
