Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting student success as a school-based Occupational Therapist near Battle Creek, MI. This assignment covers a maternity leave from November 5, 2026, through February 15, 2027, with the possibility of extension. Youll work 37.5 hours per week and play a crucial part in helping children develop essential life and academic skillswhether onsite or through VOCO, as the district is open to both arrangements.
Key Qualifications:
Valid and active Michigan Occupational Therapy license (please provide a screenshot or copy upon application) Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations in educational settings Strong communication skills, adept at collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Ability to manage caseloads independently and adapt therapy sessions to individual student needs Comfortable with online/VOCO platforms, as well as onsite settings
Role Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments of students to determine their functional abilities within the school environment Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) focused on student occupational therapy goals Deliver both direct and consultative occupational therapy services Track student progress, document interventions, and communicate results to educators and families Provide recommendations for classroom adaptations, equipment, and strategies to promote student independence Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to maximize student participation and success This is a fantastic chance to make a difference while experiencing the flexibility often sought in contract roles.
