Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team, whether full- or part-time. The Center for Childhood Development is a multi-disciplinary treatment center with 3 locations in West Michigan. We have offered pediatric therapy for 20+ years! Our dedicated team consists of occupational, speech and physical therapists with extensive experience working with children from birth through adolescence/adults. We are committed to providing comprehensive care and support to the individuals and families that come to the Center. In this role, you will play a vital part in enhancing patients' independence and quality of life through personalized therapy interventions. We partner with Anchored Family which provides psychological and social work support in our Jenison location. Duties Assess and treat children with a wide variety of developmental and physical conditions. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans collaborating with multi-disciplinary team when warranted Provide support and education to families to help children achieve their highest level of independence and functioning through the lens of neurodiversity Provide therapy services for individuals with autism, trauma and various other pediatric diagnoses Support early intervention programs by working with children to develop motor skills and adaptive strategies Educate patients and caregivers on therapy techniques, safety measures, and activity modifications for home or school environments Collaborate with speech therapists and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care Skills Proficiency in Occupational Therapy and Pediatrics 2-3 years experience working in pediatrics preferred Strong knowledge of childhood development is essential for accurate assessment and treatment planning. Knowledge of DIR/Floortime is preferred but not required. Skilled in developing and implementing personalized care plans aligned with patient needs and goals. Working closely with parents/caregivers to determine course of treatment. Ability to work effectively with and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and assess the need of the whole child/individual Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and educating patients or families effectively We are committed to fostering a supportive environment where your skills can thrive while making a positive impact every day. We are looking for an individual that has a strong desire to learn, has strong reflective skills and wants to build clinical reasoning and treatment skills.
