This contract opportunity allows you to deliver individualized therapy and collaborate with a dynamic team of educators and specialists in a vibrant school setting near Madison Heights, MI. You'll play a vital role in helping students reach their potential by addressing their physical, sensory, and motor skill challenges so they can fully participate in school activities.
Key Experience & Skills:
Licensed Occupational Therapist with valid credentials to practice in Michigan Experience supporting K-12 students in a school environment preferred Strong understanding of IEP development, goal setting, and progress documentation Effective communicator skilled at collaborating with teachers, families, and staff Creative problem-solver who adapts interventions to diverse student needs Organized, proactive, and able to manage a schedule across school sites
Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs Assess students' functional abilities in the classroom and recommend modifications or strategies to enhance participation Develop and implement individualized therapeutic interventions Collaborate with special education staff, general educators, and parents to support student growth Maintain timely documentation of therapy sessions, assessments, and progress notes Participate in team meetings and IEP reviews as a knowledgeable resource This is a 35.5-hour per week contract role offering a meaningful way to support student development each school day throughout the academic year.
