School Occupational Therapist

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity awaits for a skilled Occupational Therapist to make a positive impact in an educational setting, supporting students during a maternity leave coverage from November 5, 2026, through February 15, 2027, with the possibility of extension. This contract role offers 37.5 hours per week, providing consistent engagement and the chance to foster progress over the course of the assignment. You will collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to implement and oversee therapeutic strategies that help students achieve their goals in and out of the classroom. Candidates with a strong understanding of school-based therapy practices are encouraged to bring their clinical expertise and enthusiasm for student success.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid and active Michigan Occupational Therapy license required. (Be prepared to submit proof of licensure.) Experience working in schools or with pediatric populations preferred. Familiarity with IEP development, assessments, and documentation for students with diverse needs. Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Strong communication and organizational skills. Comfortable providing therapy both in-person and virtually (VOCO accepted).
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy services to students, addressing IEP goals and supporting academic participation. Assess, document, and report student progress. Consult with faculty, staff, and families to ensure therapy is integrated into students' daily routines. Maintain accurate records and comply with all state and district guidelines. Adapt therapy plans for in-person and virtual environments as needed.
