Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity providing vital occupational therapy services to K-12 students just outside of Mason, MI. This part-time position offers a flexible schedule, working 3.5 days per week in a supportive educational environment, where your expertise will make a daily difference for children with diverse needs.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current and valid Occupational Therapist licensure for the state. Previous experience in a school setting supporting K-12 students strongly preferred. Solid understanding of IEP processes and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills to connect effectively with students, teachers, and families. Ability to manage time efficiently across multiple grade levels and caseloads. Compassion, adaptability, and enthusiasm for working with a diverse student community.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify students' needs and develop customized occupational therapy plans. Provide direct and consultative OT services in a school environment, supporting students' educational and developmental goals. Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure therapy integrates smoothly with classroom instruction. Document progress, write thorough reports, and participate in IEP meetings, advocating for effective interventions and accommodations. Use creative, student-centered strategies to address physical, social, and sensory-motor skills. Stay current on best practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
