Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Exciting opportunity for a skilled occupational therapist to provide high-impact services and support in a dynamic school setting near Sterling Heights, MI. This contract role focuses exclusively on onsite work and offers the chance to truly make a difference in students' educational journeys. You will collaborate with educators, families, and administrators to deliver occupational therapy for a diverse caseload of 30-40 students across multiple school locations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Valid state license (or eligibility) Previous experience working in a school-based or pediatric setting strongly preferred Strong knowledge of developing, implementing, and monitoring IEP-driven goals Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills Please note: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) submissions cannot be considered for this role, as supervision is not available
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine students' occupational therapy needs Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to support academic and functional success Deliver direct therapy, consult, and make recommendations to accommodate student needs within the educational environment Prepare documentation, progress notes, and necessary reports in line with school policies and legal guidelines Engage with multidisciplinary teams and participate in IEP meetings Provide training and resources to school staff and families to support therapy goals This position is 32.5 hours per week, running through June 18, 2027, and offers the chance to impact the lives of students across multiple sites.
