Responsibilities Conduct thorough occupational therapy assessments to evaluate patients' functional abilities and develop individualized care plans. Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and personal hygiene to foster independence. Implement evidence-based occupational therapy programs tailored to each patient's goals and medical conditions. Collaborate with speech therapists, physical therapists, physicians, educators, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care. Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately and maintain detailed clinical documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition back home or to other care settings through education and resource coordination. Provide specialized interventions for populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with autism spectrum disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, or those requiring post-acute care. Participate in case management activities to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed for optimal outcomes. Assist in developing treatment plans that incorporate physiology and anatomy knowledge to enhance functional recovery. Support clients' communication needs by integrating speech therapy strategies when appropriate during occupational therapy sessions. Experience Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities across various settings such as inpatient hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, schools, or home health environments. Demonstrated expertise in pediatric occupational therapy including early intervention and school-based programs supporting students with disabilities or special education needs. Hands-on experience with occupational therapy assessments and treatment plan development for clients with neurodevelopmental disorders like autism spectrum disorder. Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical documentation standards within acute care, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), inpatient rehabilitation, or outpatient settings. Knowledge of medical physiology and anatomy essential for designing effective therapeutic interventions. Experience working collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care and support evidence-based practice principles. Skilled in implementing occupational therapy programs focused on physical rehabilitation and client-centered goals across diverse populations including geriatrics and occupational health cases.
