OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
•Early Education Center and District Wide Elementary
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum of a Bachelor Degree. 2. Licensed as an Occupational Therapist. 3. Prior experience in an educational setting preferred. 4. Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. 5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.
REPORTS TO
Building Principal/Program Director, Director of Pupil Services, or Director of Early Childhood Educational Services
JOB GOAL
To provide occupational therapeutic services for disabled students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist students by improving, developing or restoring functions impaired or lost through illness, injury or deprivation. 2. Assist students by improving their ability to perform tasks for independent functioning when functions are impaired or lost. 3. Assist students by preventing, through early intervention, initial or further impairment or loss of function. 4. Continue to further education by participating in staff development as required. 5. Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills. 6. Adheres to good safety practices. 7. Adheres to all district rules, regulations, and policies. 8. Other duties as required or assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Nine, ten, eleven, or twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the immediate supervisor.
