Job Description

Applicants must hold a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Orientation and Mobility, Visual Impairment, or a related field and possess a valid Orientation and Mobility Specialist certification (COMS) to be considered for the position. Those who do not meet these requirements will not be considered. Blazer Jobs is partnering with school districts in the Kansas City, KS area to hire a dedicated Orientation and Mobility Specialist for the 2026-2027 academic year. United States Job Description:

Provide direct orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments Assess student needs and develop individualized service plans aligned with IEPs Teach safe travel skills, including use of mobility aids and environmental awareness Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers Conduct environmental assessments within school and community settings Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
