Job Description

Step into an impactful role as a contract Occupational Therapist serving students on the western side of Wake County. You'll enjoy a full-time schedule following a year-round track, with the opportunity to work across elementary, middle, and high school settings. This position is integral in supporting students' functional abilities within their educational programs—on-site only, never remote. Ideal candidates bring robust school-based OT experience, with a preference for those familiar with North Carolina school systems. Proficiency with ECATS and IEPs is essential, alongside hands-on expertise using standardized assessments such as the SPM-2 and Sensory Profile 2. A strong ability to interpret and apply assessment findings within educational environments will be key to your success. What we're seeking: Valid OT license from the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT) Post-graduate OT degree (master's or higher strongly preferred) Demonstrated experience in school-based occupational therapy, including conducting and documenting motor screenings and evaluations Experience with ECATS and IEP processes Familiarity with standardized OT assessment tools—specifically SPM-2 and Sensory Profile 2 Understanding of functional skill assessment in relationship to school-based goals and state standards Willingness to complete DCDEE fingerprinting, Wake CPS background check, secure NPI number, and register with NC Tracks prior to start Daily responsibilities include: Implementing therapy interventions and documenting services for a diverse caseload (number of students to be determined by workload model) Collaborating with educational teams to develop and monitor IEPs Reassessing student progress and reevaluating caseload monthly alongside district workload guidelines Engaging in multidisciplinary meetings and consultations with teachers, staff, and families Interviews are taking place immediately for a start date 30 days from offer.
