Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving local schools near Las Cruces, NM! This long-term position is ideal for a compassionate and flexible Occupational Therapist (OT), and certified OT assistants (COTAs) are also encouraged to apply. You'll make a real difference across multiple school settings, supporting students of all ages while enjoying the exceptional beauty of southern New Mexico.
Key Qualifications:
Hold an active New Mexico OT state license (NMRLD) Obtain NMPED certification from the New Mexico Department of Education before the start date Open to both OTs and COTAs (OTs must be willing to supervise COTAs) Previous experience in school settings preferred Ready to travel between multiple school locations as needed Strong communication and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide occupational therapy services for a diverse caseload, ranging from early childhood through high school Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with school teams Supervise COTAs as required, ensuring quality and compliance Travel between various schools within the district to deliver onsite services Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district guidelines Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and multidisciplinary collaboration This contract runs through the full school year, with the possibility to extend.
