Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a fulfilling role as an Occupational Therapist, supporting students across a dynamic middle and high school environment in the Astoria, NY area. This part-time contract opportunity offers flexibility and the chance to make a meaningful difference in students' lives by delivering high-quality OT services 2-3 days per week. Ideal candidates bring prior experience in a school setting, with a passion for working alongside diverse students and educational teams. Your expertise enables individuals to develop essential skills, achieve greater independence, and access their curriculum more effectively.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid OT or COTA license for New York State Previous experience in a school setting (preferred) Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation Excellent communication and organizational abilities Enthusiastic about collaborating with educators, families, and students Ability to work effectively across multiple school sites
Key Responsibilities:
Provide OT evaluations and direct therapy services to students on assigned caseload Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students' IEP goals Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student needs Document progress and maintain professional records in accordance with school and state requirements Consult with teachers, staff, and parents to advocate for accommodations or strategies supporting student success Travel between a middle school and a high school, adapting to varying environments This part-time position is ideal for those seeking career flexibility and the satisfaction of supporting students' growth.
