Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make an impact supporting students' growth and independence with this rewarding opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist in a district near Brentwood, NY. We are seeking two dedicated professionals who are passionate about helping students reach their fullest potential within the school setting. This contract position offers full-time hours and the chance to make a difference across various schools in the district.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of New York Degree from an accredited OT program Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred Strong understanding of school-based therapy practices and IEP processes Ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and other specialists Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills Passion for fostering student independence and participation in classroom environments
Primary Responsibilities:
Assess students' needs and develop individualized treatment plans to support educational goals Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students across the district Participate in IEP meetings and contribute therapy goals and progress updates Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and required documentation Adapt strategies and interventions to address diverse student needs Provide guidance and resources to staff and families to promote carryover of skills Assist with classroom modifications and sensory supports as needed Experience a fulfilling role in an educational community that values your expertise and dedication.
