Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Based Occupational Therapist to join our team. The position is full time in one elementary school in one school district following a 10 month school calendar with the opportunity to work summers. Occupational Therapist will receive a high daily rate rather than fee for service and receive a $500 sign on bonus after 10 months of employment. The ideal candidate will have a background in pediatrics and a passion to help students achieve their maximum potential through therapeutic interventions. Day-to-day tasks include assessing and evaluating students, developing and implementing personalized therapy plans, and working closely with teachers, physical therapists, speech therapists and families. Responsibilities Create and implement individualized, therapeutic interventions to address students' goals as per the students' Individualized Education Plan. Administer standardized tests in accordance with students' IEP and write up evaluation reports. Consult with teachers and other school professionals to ensure carry over of students' skills into the academic setting Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and progress. Document student progress with daily notes. Attend annual CSE meetings and report on students' progress towards goals and proposed goals for the following school year. Requirements Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with educational team and families.
