9650743-10314 Job Description Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity for the full 2026-2027 school year as an Occupational Therapist supporting a local elementary caseload. This role offers 27.5 hours per week and the chance to make a meaningful impact on students educational journeys in a welcoming school environment near Staten Island, NY. As a valued Occupational Therapist, you'll collaborate with dedicated educators and families to foster student growth and engagement within both 1:1 and small group settings. Utilizing your expertise, youll nurture each childs developmental, sensory, and motor skills, empowering every student to reach their potential.
Desired Qualifications:
Active Occupational Therapist license valid in New York. Previous experience or strong interest in providing OT in school-based settings. Solid understanding of elementary-age students developmental needs. Proven capability to deliver effective interventions in both individual and small group formats. Compelling communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families. Strong documentation and organizational abilities for maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments to identify students areas of need and create individualized intervention plans. Implement engaging OT sessions with flexibility for 1:1 and small group instruction. Collaborate with special education teams and classroom teachers to integrate OT strategies. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting plans as necessary to meet goals. Participate in IEP meetings and provide valuable input regarding each childs strengths and needs. Support students in developing essential skills for academic and social success.
