We're a community-based hand therapy practice looking for an OT who is genuinely interested in hand and upper-extremity rehabilitation. New graduates and therapists new to hand therapy are welcome. You don't need to come to us as a hand therapy expert. What we're looking for is curiosity, a strong desire to learn, and an interest in developing real expertise in this specialty. Mentorship is a big part of this job. Hand therapy has a steep learning curve, and we don't expect you to figure it out alone. You'll receive close, hands-on mentorship from experienced clinicians as you build your skills in clinical decision-making, post-surgical protocols, splinting, treatment progression, and management of complex upper-extremity conditions. We review cases, answer questions, provide regular feedback, and help you build confidence as your skills develop. If becoming a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is one of your goals, this is a great place to build toward it. Already an experienced therapist? There's plenty here for you, too. We work closely with local hand surgeons and regularly treat complex post-surgical, orthopedic, neurological, and traumatic upper-extremity cases. Experienced therapists will have the opportunity to work with an interesting caseload, collaborate with surgeons, exercise clinical independence, and continue developing their specialty skills. What you'll be doing Treating patients with post-surgical and non-surgical hand and upper-extremity conditions Learning to evaluate and manage orthopedic and neurological upper-extremity cases Developing individualized treatment plans with support and guidance when you need it Working closely with local hand surgeons and other members of the care team Building your clinical reasoning and confidence as a hand therapist Providing thoughtful, compassionate care to a community that has limited access to hand therapy specialists Who we're looking for We're probably a good match if you: Are a licensed Occupational Therapist in New York State Have a genuine interest in hand and upper-extremity rehabilitation Enjoy learning and aren't afraid to ask questions Want feedback and mentorship rather than being left on your own Are dependable, organized, and care about doing a good job for your patients Enjoy being part of a supportive team Are interested in learning Spanish — definitely a plus in the community we serve
