Job Description

SUNY Upstate Medical University is currently accepting applications for Occupational Therapist opportunities in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation - Rehab Therapies. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating patients, formulating specific treatment goals, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with other health care providers and families. Prepare and maintain patient care documentation in a timely manner. Attend designated clinics, rounds, and conferences. Participate in educational programs for staff, students, volunteers, and other professional health care personnel. Participate in training for new staff. Serve as a clinical instructor for students. Facilitate new program development. The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation offers opportunities across a variety of practice settings, including: Acute Care, Inpatient Rehabilitation and Outpatient Rehabilitation. Patient populations may include individuals with neurologic, orthopedic, hand and upper extremity, and complex medical rehabilitation needs. Patient populations include adult and pediatric, depending on departmental and clinical service needs. Consider joining our team of skilled professionals at Upstate. Qualifications:
NYS Licensed & Registered Occupational Therapist, degree required for licensure, and two years of experience required. Candidates who possess degree required for licensure, NYS OT license/registration or eligible (but must receive license in 1 year) and less than 2 years experience will be considered for appointment to an entry-level (SL2) position at commensurate salary. CPR-BLS certification required at time of appointment.
