ASAP About the Opportunity EDU-AIDs is seeking a qualified healthcare or related licensed professional to provide vision and hearing screenings for students at a school in Akron, Ohio. We are open to professionals with different clinical and educational backgrounds, depending on their Ohio licensure, training, experience, and scope of practice related to vision and hearing screening. Potentially Relevant Professional Backgrounds Professionals with backgrounds such as the following may be considered, depending on their qualifications and screening experience: School Nurse Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Audiologist Audiology professional / Audiology Assistant Other appropriately licensed or trained healthcare or school-based professionals Responsibilities Conduct student vision and/or hearing screenings within the professional's applicable scope of practice and training Follow applicable school and Ohio screening requirements and procedures Accurately document and maintain screening results Identify students who may require additional evaluation or follow-up Communicate screening results appropriately with designated school personnel Maintain confidentiality of student information Follow school health, safety, and student-support procedures Coordinate with the school and EDU-AIDs team as needed regarding screening activities Qualifications Active Ohio professional license or credential appropriate to the services being provided Appropriate training and/or experience in conducting vision and/or hearing screenings Experience working with children or in a school setting preferred Strong documentation and communication skills Ability to work independently in a school environment Current background check and required credentials, as applicable Candidates who are qualified to perform either or both components of the requested screening are encouraged to apply.
