Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic role providing essential occupational therapy support in an educational setting, assisting students primarily in grades K-5 who have autism spectrum disorder and multiple disabilities. As a floating occupational therapist, you'll play a pivotal role in alleviating caseload overages and ensuring consistent services where they are needed most. This contract opportunity offers one full day per week with an emphasis on in-person interaction, allowing you to directly impact students' development and assist school teams in delivering high-quality support.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist Experience working with children in an educational or pediatric setting Familiarity with interventions and supports for ASD and multiple disabilities Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and other therapists Strong communication skills for engaging both students and school staff Adaptable and comfortable providing support across multiple classrooms
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and consultative OT services to K-5 students based on IEP goals Provide floating support to manage overages and assist staff with diverse therapy needs Assess student abilities, document progress, and recommend strategies for classroom integration Collaborate with special education teams to design and implement effective interventions Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student planning as needed Encourage student independence and facilitate inclusion in school activities
