SUMMARY Provides full component of services including evaluation, treatment and consultation. The therapist delivers services to children with special needs and their families in the most effective and cost-efficient manner.

Practices Occupational Therapy consistent with the American Occupational Therapy Association Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice, and state licensing laws. Promotes a positive image by representing the Therapy Services Division and the Achievement Centers for Children in a courteous, professional manner. Adheres to all Policies/Procedures in the Achievement Centers for Children Staff Handbook. Promotes a team approach within each program and throughout the agency. Works in family-centered partnerships with the individuals and families served by Achievement Centers for Children. Practices safe work habits and contributes to ensuring a safe and healthful work environment. Maintains the department to allow for safe and healthful work environment. Maintains all equipment in safe working order, notifying supervisor of repairs/replacements as needed. Practices appropriate safety techniques related in Infection Control and Universal Precautions including hand washing and toy disinfecting. Attends continuing education courses to maintain license and keep abreast of new techniques and trends in the field of Occupational Therapy. Fosters and maintains good public relations with all community sources. Conducts self with professional dignity; understands the importance of good human relations; able to motivate others; and possesses initiative and good judgment.

Completes forms and documentation including evaluations, re-assessments, progress notes, daily notes, authorization forms, schedules, bills, and other forms as assigned. Collaborates, consults, and plans with other team members throughout informal and formal meetings which may include providing in-service training to the same. Fabricates and adapts equipment and devices for activities of daily living. Constructs, applies, monitors and recommends splints and casts. Attends agency, supervision, departmental, utilization review and staff in-service meetings. Maintains appearance of department, equipment, and toys including cleaning and organizing. Provides supervision to volunteers and students as assigned. Attends continuing educational opportunities to maintain current licensure. Participates with supervisor in developing and implementing an annual plan for professional growth aligned with the annual evaluation and agency goals. Serves on agency committees.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training, and /or Experience Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Program curriculum approved by American Occupational Therapy Association with a Doctorate, Master or Baccalaureate Degree. Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with a team. Ability to manage time effectively. Ability to adapt to frequent changes and variation in duties and responsibilities. Thoughtful of others, courteous, patient, friendly, tactful and enthusiastic. Certification and Licenses Licensed in the State of Ohio as a Occupational Therapist

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Training and/or experience in pediatrics. Treatment techniques experience/training related to sensory systems and neurodevelopment.
