Category Schools - Orientation and Mobility Specialist Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic opportunity supporting students across Greene County and Washington County as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist. This contract position spans from ASAP through June 2026, offering the chance to make a lasting difference for K-12 learners across multiple districts. Key Qualifications:
Active Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) license required Experience working with K-12 caseloads in educational settings Strong communication and organizational skills Comfort and reliability traveling between multiple school sites Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to diverse student needs
Role Responsibilities:
Conduct orientation and mobility assessments for students with visual impairments Develop and implement individualized plans to promote safe, independent movement Teach students techniques to navigate school campuses and community environments Consult and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student goals Maintain accurate progress records and documentation as required Serve as a resource for staff professional development when needed This full-time, onsite position provides a fulfilling way to work hands-on with students across multiple educational settings.
