Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Occupational Therapist license in Pennsylvania. Certification by NBCOT. Experience working within school settings, preferred. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Proficient in developing individualized treatment plans, implementing therapeutic interventions, and monitoring progress. Knowledge of IEP processes and relevant documentation requirements. Ability to adapt to varying caseload sizes and diverse student populations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assess students' developmental, functional, and educational needs related to occupational therapy. Design and implement student-centered interventions that foster increased independence and participation in school activities. Collaborate with teachers, special educators, administrators, and parents to integrate therapy goals into classroom routines. Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, providing essential input for individualized educational planning. Maintain accurate documentation for evaluations, progress notes, and reports in compliance with state and federal regulations. Offer guidance on adaptive equipment or classroom modifications as needed to ensure students' optimal access to the curriculum.
