An Occupational Therapist helps patients with injuries, illnesses, and disabilities recover, improve, or develop skills needed for everyday activities. Assists people with mobility impairments to move easily around their homes; develops school and workplace settings that are accessible for individuals with physical or mental disabilities. May specialize in certain types of impairments or certain categories of patients.
As a Licensed Occupational Therapist with the Department of Human Services (DHS) at the Danville State Hospital, you take the lead in creating therapies that spark progress and support meaningful growth. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position focuses on evaluating needs, designing treatment plans, and delivering occupational therapy services that support individual recovery. You contribute to team-based care by providing assessments, recommendations, and progress updates. As a Licensed Occupational Therapist, you will perform the following duties:
Therapy Evaluation:
Assess individuals using approved methods and document findings in the electronic health record
Treatment Planning:
Develop therapy sessions based on individual needs and monitor progress toward treatment goals
Team Collaboration:
Share recommendations during multidisciplinary meetings to support coordinated care
Service Communication:
Participate in department meetings and committees to promote clear understanding of therapy services
Resource Coordination:
Request equipment and supplies and organize therapy areas to support effective treatments
Specialized Services:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Free parking

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirements:
This position requires possession of a license to practice occupational therapy as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Occupational Therapy Education and Licensure.
Other Requirements:
PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
