The successful candidate must have demonstrated success with and be knowledgeable about a variety of interventions. The candidate must also have training and experience with the administration and interpretation of a wide range of assessments and evaluation tools. In addition to direct student services, the Occupational Therapist is responsible for the testing and evaluation of students initially referred or for reevaluations for caseload students.
Administer, score and interpret results of standardized assessmentsInterpret diagnostic data to professionals and familiesProvide direct services to students in their classroom, as much as possible, as individuals and/or groups, while providing consultation to teachers regarding this area.
Participate as a member of the Evaluation Team. Participate in IEP meetings and provide services to students based on the IEPs that are developed. Maintain case records and follow referral and tracking procedures. Consult and collaborate with other school personnel to gather and provide information on a case and establish and plan respective roles in modifying the students program.
Keep sufficient records of the cases to meet state regulations requirements, to document status as needed, and provide staff with up-to-date management and assessment data. Such other duties as deemed necessary by the Director of Student Services and/or the building administrator
