Pediatric Occupational Therapist
Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a trustworthy and compassionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our pediatric team. In this vital role, you will assess, develop, and implement personalized occupational therapy programs tailored to the unique needs of pediatric patients (i.e., sensory based feeding needs, sensory strategies, primitive relfex integration, fine motor, etc.).
Availability Needs:
2 days/week, minimum 6 hours/week
Available Days:
Monday, Thursday, Friday, and/or Saturday Preference to applicants available on Friday or Saturday
• Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for pediatric patients, including evaluations of motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical best practices and family goals Monitor progress by completing progress reports and daily treatment notes Implement therapeutic interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), fine motor skills, feeding/sensory-based feeding, sensory integration, and self-care routines Assist children with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities to achieve developmental milestones Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and medical professionals—to coordinate care plans and ensure holistic patient support Support discharge planning by preparing families and caregivers with strategies for continued progress at home or in school settings Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with clinical standards and confidentiality protocols Qualifications Valid licensure or certification as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist in Rhode Island Proven experience working with children in various settings such as outpatient clinics, schools, early intervention programs, inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, or home health services Strong knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy, neurodevelopmental disorders, and evidence-based occupational therapy practices Demonstrated ability to develop effective treatment plans and adapt interventions based on individual patient needs Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities; familiarity with autism spectrum disorders support strategies is highly desirable Skilled in conducting occupational therapy assessments and utilizing clinical documentation tools accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems Excellent client communication skills to engage children and families effectively while providing education on therapy goals and progress Ability to work collaboratively to deliver comprehensive patient care Nice to

Pay:
$38.00 - $55.00 per hour
