In this flexible, as-needed role, you will provide expert occupational therapy services to diverse patient populations across various settings. Your primary focus will be on enhancing patient independence, supporting functional recovery, and developing personalized treatment plans that align with evidence-based practices. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate patients' functional abilities, mobility, and daily living skills. Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, goals, and medical conditions. Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and personal hygiene to promote independence. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams such as speech therapists, physical therapists, physicians, and educators to coordinate care plans and optimize patient outcomes. Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition back home or to other care settings through education and skill development. Document patient progress accurately in electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with clinical documentation standards and medical terminology. Provide specialized interventions for populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders like autism spectrum disorders, and those requiring post-acute or outpatient care. Qualifications Valid state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist. Experience working with individuals with disabilities across various settings such as inpatient hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, schools, or home health environments. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and evidence-based occupational therapy practices. Proven ability to develop effective treatment plans and perform occupational therapy assessments aligned with client needs. Experience working with pediatric populations including early intervention and school-aged children with disabilities or special education needs. Familiarity with medical documentation standards and electronic health records (EHR) management systems. Excellent client communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within interprofessional teams. Prior experience supporting clients with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder is highly desirable. Skills in discharge planning, case management, and implementing occupational therapy programs tailored for diverse populations including geriatrics and occupational health cases are preferred.
