We are seeking a Mobility Specialist (Physical Therapy Tech / Rehab Aide) at our South Austin location (5716 W HWY 290) to support our Physical Therapists and clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for current physical therapy students or individuals interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy, sports medicine, or healthcare who are seeking hands-on clinical experience. We offer flexible scheduling Monday
  • Friday and are currently seeking a part-time team member for approximately 15-25 hours per week , with the opportunity to grow into full-time hours in the future. Compensation based on experience, $20
  • $25 per hour.
Initial scheduling needs will fall within the following timeframes, with both partial and full shifts available:
Mondays:
10:30 AM
  • 6:30 PM Tuesdays
  • Thursdays:
    7:30 AM
  • 2:30
PM Fridays:
7:30 AM
  • 1:30 PM We're happy to work with the right candidate to create a consistent schedule that fits both their availability and our clinic's needs.
This role is ideal for:
Pre-health students (pre-PT, pre-PA, pre-med) seeking direct patient care experience Recent graduates taking a gap year before PT or other healthcare programs Individuals with a strong interest or background in biomechanics, gait analysis, or human movement who are excited about evidence-based rehabilitation Those interested in orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, or movement optimization with a background in athletic training, exercise science, or personal training Licensed massage therapists or individuals currently pursuing massage therapy (working within the scope of the PT plan of care)
Responsibilities:
Assist patients with prescribed exercises under the guidance of a supervising licensed provider, focusing on mobility, strengthening, gait training, and biomechanics Provide guided recovery and soft-tissue support (e.g., massage gun use) under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist Assist with movement analysis, including video feedback of treadmill walking/running and sport-specific skills as appropriate Work one-on-one with patients to reinforce proper movement patterns and exercise technique under clinician supervision Assist Physical Therapists during treatment sessions to ensure safe, effective, and efficient care delivery Help maintain clinic flow, cleanliness, and organization to support a professional and welcoming patient experience Engage with patients in a friendly, supportive manner to enhance comfort, confidence, and adherence to care plans
Qualifications:
Current enrollment in or completion of a program in physical therapy, kinesiology, exercise science, athletic training, biomechanics, or a related field preferred Experience or education in exercise instruction, movement coaching, or rehabilitation preferred Ability to follow clinical direction, demonstrate attention to detail, and prioritize patient safety Comfortable working one-on-one with patients in an active, hands-on clinical environment Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow within a collaborative clinical team If you enjoy hands-on work and are excited about movement analysis, rehabilitation, and performance-based physical therapy, we'd love to hear from you.
