Working closely with students, educators, and families, you will have a meaningful impact by supporting independence and enhancing educational access.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments Ability to create tailored lesson plans and mobility goals Strong communication and collaboration skills for working alongside multidisciplinary teams Patience, empathy, and a passion for fostering self-advocacy in students Familiarity with both traditional and adaptive technologies to support learning and movement

Primary Responsibilities:

Assess students to determine orientation and mobility needs and develop individualized plans Teach safe and effective travel techniques in various environments, both indoors and outdoors Work one-on-one or in small groups to instruct in the use of canes, guide dogs, or other mobility aids Adapt instruction based on each students unique abilities and educational goals Consult with teachers, administrators, and family members, offering resources and strategies for accessible learning Document student progress and maintain up-to-date reports Participate in IEP meetings and help ensure compliance with educational plans This opportunity offers a chance to make a true difference every daywatching students gain skills and confidence as they move toward greater independence.
