Key qualifications:
Active Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification required AVCREP certification or equivalent is essential Ability to obtain or maintain compliance with Texas fingerprinting/credentialing requirements Previous experience serving K12 or diverse student populations preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills Primary responsibilities: Provide direct orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families on student progress Adapt strategies to create safe and effective travel plans tailored to each students needs Complete relevant student documentation promptly and maintain confidentiality Serve as a resource for accessibility and mobility solutions within the school community Youll work with a supportive district eager to welcome professionals who are passionate about increased student independence.
