Responsibilities The Pediatric Occupational Therapist leads and manages the application of occupational therapy theory and practice in alignment with organizational principles and patient needs. The OT provides clinical expertise in evaluation and treatment, collaborating with and educating patients, physicians, families, and caregivers. Serving as a patient and rehabilitation advocate, the OT participates in quality improvement and ensures a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to student success. Provide direct patient care, including evaluation, treatment planning, goal setting, and documentation for the birth-to-five population. Direct and supervise the work of OT assistants (COTAs), rehab techs, and students in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Conduct assessments and design measurable, evidence-based goals for fine-motor development, gross-motor coordination, visual-motor integration, and sensory processing. Independently identify clinical problems and initiate appropriate actions to ensure patient progress. Maintain clear, professional communication with staff, families, physicians, and case managers regarding patient rights and confidentiality. Participate in clinic operations, staff meetings, and professional development activities. Manage documentation and billing practices within the electronic practice management system. Follow all organizational safety policies and procedures regarding personal protection and patient safety.
