Job Description

Step into a dynamic opportunity supporting students' growth in a vibrant educational setting near the Washington, DC area. This school-based occupational therapy role is designed for a passionate professional eager to make a difference through both direct and consultative services within a flexible part-time schedule. You'll partner primarily with two middle schools (with a possible addition of an elementary campus) for the entirety of the school year. This contract position offers the ideal blend of educator collaboration, student engagement, and autonomy—perfect for those seeking to balance school-based practice with other interests.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Virginia is required Experience in school-based OT settings or with pediatric populations preferred Ability to provide both direct interventions and consultative services Comfortable managing a caseload of 25 students, including setting goals and documenting progress Must start the VA Dept. of Social Services background check promptly and provide documentation of a recent TB test
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct OT services to approximately 10 students; provide consultative support for an additional 15 Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to foster student success Conduct evaluations as necessary throughout the academic year Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines Participate in student support meetings and contribute expertise as part of a multidisciplinary team
